integrity
My old man was a straight arrow. In business, in life, even on taxes. He could be as blunt and forceful as an anvil but the man was nothing if not honest & forthright.
Our gelateria operates exactly the same way.
Here’s what that means:
a. We sell our gelato by weight, not volume. We do not sell you air.
b. Honest, All-Natural ingredients that our ethically sourced and responsibly grown.
c. We make each recipe from scratch, by hand, in house. It’s an open lab, come and watch!
d. We do not proffer in or tolerate bs.
DEDICATION:
Pops ran through a minefield and spent years bouncing around different refugee camps before he landed in South Florida with a change of clothes, a toothbrush and very broken english. He went on to raise a family and build and sell multiple successful businesses through a sharp mind, sheer will, hard work and determination.
The wayward son gelatiere will never top that. But regarding the gelatos our shop hand makes every day, the years we have devoted to developing this concept and these recipes, coupled with the passion, the patience, perseverance and hours that have gone into creating each recipe, that,
you’ll taste in your first bite.
RESPECTING TRADITION:
Not a craftsman by trade, my father was extremely precise, meticulous in his planning and measurements, and when he had his health and time, there were always a handful of side projects he would rather do well himself than buy or pay someone else to do poorly. And while it was far from my favorite Saturday afternoon activity as a boy, it is those moments that resonate among my fondest memories. Talking, doing, learning, listening, working precisely by hand, gleaning those morsels of wisdom and adopting his appreciation for culture and heritage is what Degli Angeli was created to convey.
Underlying and encompassing everything my father was and was about, was love. He loved his family; he loved his many friends; he loved his work, his team and his clients. It’s what drove him to be the exceptional person he was, do the exceptional work he did, and inspires me to emulate.
This gelato’s for you pops!
