We start with a custard base, add some freshly ground black walnuts from California, kick that up with a Swiss black walnut liqueur and an amazing Amaro I was thrilled to find available stateside and finish it with some bittersweet chocolate covered nuts. This gelato is not at all sweet. It is herbaceous, a bit on the bitter side and nutty. If you love a great Amaro after dinner though, it won’t disappoint.
